Johansson lived living in New York City as the mother of an architect as well as an executive from a production firm. Hunter was the twin of their younger sisters. At the age of seven years old, she started making auditions for TV commercials. Her debut came as an actor in the film North (1994) at the age of nine. At eight, she starred alongside Ethan Hawke on Off-Broadway in Sophistry. Johansson played the lead role on screen in Just Cause (1995), prior to her breakthrough in the film Manny & Lo - a story of two sisters and orphans who escape. Next, she received high praise from critics for her performance as an teen girl who suffered an accident that left her damaged in The Horse Whisperer (1998). She gained more attention for her performance in Ghost World (2002) as the self-deprecating outcast Rebecca. Renee Felice Smith was a child when she began her entertainment career. When she was a kid she fell in love with acting. Smith was offered the first of many acting roles at the tender age of 6. The role was in a Dannon yogurt commercial. As with most actresses beginning to get their feet wet, she would work on her acting skills. She took part in different projects within the USA as she made her debut on stage. She studied at the Stonestreet Studios Conservatory of the New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
